Choose a thoughtful position
Keep artwork away from direct sunlight, damp walls and sudden changes in temperature. Kitchens and bathrooms may expose a surface to humidity and splashes.
Handle the frame, protect the surface
Use clean, dry hands and support the work securely. Avoid pressing on the painted surface. Use fixings appropriate for both the artwork weight and the wall construction.
Ask about the medium
Care requirements vary by material and finish. Request medium-specific instructions with your order. Do not use cleaning products or a wet cloth on a painted surface; contact the artist or a conservator if a work needs attention.
