Choosing art for a warm, neutral room

Compare colour, shape and visual weight using three works from Huner’s collection before deciding what belongs in your room.

Choosing art for a warm, neutral room

Start with the room’s strongest existing colour

Look at the timber, upholstery and floor together. Pick one colour you would like the painting to echo, and decide whether you want the work to blend in or create contrast. Compare it beside your actual materials in daylight and in the lighting you use at night.

Earth & Form: rounded shapes and rust tones

Earth & Form combines two rust-coloured shapes with a fine dark line and a small dark accent. The curved shapes offer a contrast to straight furniture edges. Its interior photograph shows one possible setting; confirm the actual painting dimensions before using that image to judge scale.

Terracotta Current: a more directional composition

Terracotta Current has a pale line sweeping across terracotta, stone and brown fields. If your room already contains rounded shapes, compare this more diagonal composition with Earth & Form. Save both works and ask Huner for straight-on photographs to make the comparison easier.

Quiet Geometry: pattern without a bright palette

Quiet Geometry uses repeated dark marks on a warm neutral ground. Consider it when you want pattern without introducing another strong colour. Stand back from your screen and compare the density of its marks with the fabrics and objects already in your room.

Check colour and size before ordering

Screens and lighting can change the way a colour appears. Request current photographs, the medium, frame finish and exact outer dimensions. Use the wall-size planner to compare a proposed size with your available space, then confirm the details with Huner.
